First, I tried Federal Premium Gold Medal, 38 special, 148 grain special wadcutters. The Federal wadcutters left lead buildup on
three different revolvers. Therefore, I stopped using the Federal wadcutters.
The American Eagle, 158 grain, lead round nose covers the revolvers with a dirty and dark buildup on the exterior of the guns.
Finally, I tried the Magtech Sport, 38 CBC special short, 125 grain, lead round nose ammunition. The Magtech 38 special short,
DID NOT leave the lead build up that the Federal wadcutters left. Also, the Magtech DID NOT leave any dark buildup on the outside of the gun like the Federal 158 grain, lead round nose.
Because this 38 special CBC has such little recoil, it is also pleasant to shoot out of small, lightweight revolvers.
In conclusion, Magtech 38 CBC special short, is the cleanest lead round nose ammunition I have ever fired out of a revolver !!
Incidentally, the cleaning of the guns required very little "elbow grease".
If you like shooting 38 special - and you are willing to spend the extra money for this ammunition - you will probably find that it is worth the money.
