A little light for recoil for NATO spec round, but not bad. I went to using NATO to finish up EVER practice session with 9mm, because of the great disparity between recoil of range ammo, and good 9mm carry ammo. Police departments have at least an annual qualifying with their duty ammo. With 9mm more officers failed to qualify the first time, because their 9mmm practice ammo was so different than their 9mm duty ammo. With .45 ACP or .40 S&W this is not nearly as much of an issue! I am finally going over to .40 S&W now that everyone else, is going back to 9mm. If you do not understand how badly 9mm can let you down, when it counts, you would always use 9mm NATO ammo to practice with, because those +P Golden Hydro Points, or +P Critical Zombie or +P Terminal Buffalo Defenders are not going to shoot the same, at all. At least the NATO ammo is pretty close to +P, and it's 124 grain, and since it is military, and militaries use tonnes of this stuff, it's not very expensive. For fun, Blazer Brass, or 115 grain Fun Packs, or white box is okay, but finish up with at least a full box of NATO ammo, per gun! My shoulder is completely blown out, so my stance is a joke, but I have to shoot with the shoulders I have at the time. It has healed up, kinda sorta.

These rounds are not unlike the Sellier & Bellot government contract ammunition, in the sense that they both have sealed primers and similar ballistics. Because of the sealed primers, they tend to be slightly smokier and don't burn as cleanly. The same issues from the sealant can be seen with the Magtech CBC 5.56 ammunition. Aside from that, it is really good ammunition

I didn't see all the rage about this so called pantheon ammo. Such as, the brass just looked average- not shinny like jewelry as most claimed and it was not clean burning. I would say average at best. I was shocked that Yavex, PPU NATO, and Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics were all much cleaner burning and much less fouling with much more velocity too. Then comparing the quality of brass luster believe it or NOT.....Sellier & Bellot has much more brass luster, maybe the most I've seen in the last 20 years. This MEN9B did however go BANG everytime and had zero functionality issues. So it did do its job, and contrary to most reviewers it is very mild in recoil and very mild in velocity in both compact and service length barrels per the chronograph. I will NOT buy any more of this MEN9B, when I can buy much better all around ammo in Yavex, PPU NATO, and Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics and @ a much cheaper price. I'm being Objective here NOT Subjective. Sticking with the facts and my own experience. It's NOT bad ammo but it's NOT what people rant about either and definitely at the price point MEN9B is at in the current market either.

Shot great out of my gen5 G19. Felt a little warmer than a normal 9mm, so its a good round to get a feel for hotter ammo.
