It’s a fantastic little gun. I love shooting it.

I write this as a career Marine, lifelong hunter, outdoorsman, and a master firearms instructor. The first couple runs of this gun left much to be desired, with constant failures to feed and eject properly. Clearly Kel-Tec should have field tested it further before beginning mass production. However, when I bought mine, most of these problems had been sorted out. I have only one complaint with this weapon, and that is the location of the magazine release, which is at the bottom rear of the grip and very exposed. I lost a mag due to this when I was wearing a mil-surplus tanker holster.
But other than that, my gun has run like a champ. My wife has one too, and she reports the same. Both guns shoot whatever type of 22WMR ammo we can find to put in it. This includes light weight Speer Gold Dot, CCI Max V, heavier Winchester and Browning hollow points, and the cheap Armscor ammo. No failures of any type. I carry this gun in a newer enclosed chest rig when riding my snowmobile, and have never had another issue with a lost or even a loose mag. It's tough to beat thirty rounds of high velocity ammo in such light package.
The fiber optic sights are great, and offer you excellent visibility and contrast in low light. Just take some superglue to them as a precaution. I do this to any gun with fiber sights.
The rail on this gun fits any light I've put on it. The trigger pull is consistent. The safety is a Walther/Beretta style safety and is intuitive.
The mags can be difficult to load over 20, and that takes some practice because of the unique stacking method for the rimmed cartridges. I see no reason to keep more than 20 rounds in them anyway, but when I'm going out for prolonged periods, I load them to capacity.
Firepower. Reliability. Very low recoil. Modest weight. All equals an excellent survivor's gun.
BTW, if you get one that doesn't run, send it back and they'll fix or replace it.

I bought this new. The warranty applies to new owners so beware. I had numerous issues at first and tried the graphite trick which didn’t really help. I finally sent in for warranty repair. They fixed and returned it promptly.
No issues at all now. I would carry this now, but only if I had a backup.

This gun is a challenge to shoot well. If you are a new shooter, please don't buy this gun. However, if you are somewhat experienced and up to the challenge, go for it. For the first 250 rounds fired, you will experience failure to feed at an alarming rate. But, if you spray the ammo with graphite (from an aerosol can), then load no more than 20 rounds into the magazine, the gun works fairly well. I purchased extra magazines (about $25 each) so I go to the range with six fully prepared magazines, containing a total of 120 rounds.
As the gun gets broken in, I will try to use unlubricated ammo. One reviewer on the Internet referred to this gun as the "worse gun ever made." I don't think it is that bad. It is NOT a defensive weapon or a competitive target gun. But when you get it to work, it is fun to shoot.

Just got mine and it's a blast to shoot. No real issues other than the mags being a bit harder to load than normal. All things considered I recommend it.

The Kel Tec PMR 30 is an absolutely incredible pistol for the money. So far I have not had any issues whatsoever. In fact I was so impressed, I bought another one for a friend of mine. The performance is good and I would recommend it to anyone. Get one, you'll be glad you did.

it's getting much better after breaking in. just wish keltec would take the time to fix the magazine issue. none of my other handguns take a bead of plastic glue to fix a magazine feed issue. but other than that I love the gun and the pop I get from the round. 30 rounds right on top of each other with minimal recoil is awesome!

Yes, I've popped-off all 30 rounds using CCI Maxi-Mag 22 WMR Ammo 40 Grain Total Metal Jacket & Hornady Varmint Express 22 WMR Ammo 30 Grain V-Max. Nevertheless, this pistol is finicky. The magazines have to be loaded carefully and tapped against hand or table to seat the rounds properly. Also, 22 WMR is thin-walled ammo and very easily dented; it can happen very easily trying to cram 30 into a magazine.
So, it's a Fun-Gun but for a role in primary defense or conceal/carry, you may want to clarify your expectations. It's damn fun but also damn finicky.

This has been a fun pistol to shoot. I've had some issues with failure to feed and go into battery, but that seem to be ammo dependent. So far the Hornady Critical Defense 22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire Ammo 45 Grain Flex Tip Expanding seems to be the most reliable.

I have both the PMR 30 and CMR 30. It's very accurate but picky. Jams on Fiocchi 40gr so bad. Armsor is somewhat ok. Stick to CCI, you will not be dissappointed!. Fiocchi shell diameter is a tad bigger than CCI (.239"-.240" while CCI is >238").

First trip to the range resulted in the following:
At least a dozen (I quit counting) fail to feed, including at least four times the action locked open when there was still rounds in the magazine. After paying about $50.00 over MSRP to get this gun I am very disappointed. I followed Kel-Tec's instructions as to how to load the magazines, (I have three) and used five different mfr. ammo. FTF's were random and I can not point to a particular magazine or ammo. I will work on it, but both of my Taurus hand guns give me much better service. I can't recommend that anyone buy this gun.
