    After being at hydroshock Fan since the early 90s I had to try this Hydra-Shok deep out. I performed my own ballistics test without the gel. Unbelievable expansion out of the deep. I hope to God I never have to really use it because it's going to do its job all too well!

    Federal Hydra Shok deep impressed me tremendously!! Feeds flawlessly, extremely accurate with a 1 inch group at 30 yards out of my M&P 9mm 1.0. Penetration in ballistics gel hit the sweet spot of 14.5-15.75 all 6 times ! No failures ! Recoil extremely minimal allowing great follow up shots. Move over HST & Ranger T there’s a NEW Sheriff in town ! Federal hits Grand Slam with this round & will be my EDC carry ammo.

    Little expensive, but other than that I love everything about this ammo. It cycles well in my Glock 19 and MP9 Shield. Seems to be accurate when shooting at a 25 meter target.

    IMHO increased deep penetration test results are an innovative marketing ploy. The subject is not to be ignored, especially in less robust calibers, but accurately placed rounds engaging an appropriate target should accomplish what needs to be done. HYPE.

    We'll see about this new version of the old, tired Hydra-Shok nameplate. (Retired LE); had VERY poor performance out of the OLD Hydra-Shok back in the 90s. It was THE big hyped wonder bullet (subsonic 147 gr-CRAP!). I'm skeptical about the center post actually performing any function other than a gimmick. Since this just came out, I hope this new design performs well in actual street shootings...only time will tell. If this ammo doesn't do well...or other manufacturer's ammo is better-Federal needs to retire the "Hydra-Shok" name out to pasture for good.
