SBR 338 Spectre Ammunition 250 Grain Full Metal Jacket – SL338250 review offers the following information;
The .338 Spectre cartridge is a specialized round created for the M4/AR-15 series of gas-operated, detachable-box magazine firearms. It is designed to bridge the gap between traditional pistol calibers and intermediate-powered rifle cartridges like the 5.56 NATO. Featuring an 8.6mm (.338 cal) bullet—similar to those used in the .338 Lapua Magnum and .338 Norma Magnum—this round was engineered to work with a standard M4/AR-15 lower receiver by simply swapping the upper receiver. Its design ensures it maintains the overall length and pressure limits suitable for the M4/AR platform.SBR Ammunition, based in Brunswick, Georgia, produces a range of factory .338 Spectre ammunition and is recognized as an authority on this cartridge. They also offer high-quality reloading components, including pre-formed brass with thicker walls compared to necked-down 10mm Magnum cases.
